We accept bank deposit, cheque and money orders. PayPal payments can be made directly from the shopping cart menu (no fee's apply) Cheque and money order details will be emailed to you with your final invoice once the order has been processed.

We are now accepting credit card payments over the phone - simply choose the cheque money order option and write CREDIT CARD in the comments section during check out. Someone will ring you at a suitable time to collect your details and confirm the order. No credit card details are taken via email/internet keeping your details safe and secure.

Your order will not be shipped until funds have cleared.

We do not charge packaging or handling fees for orders, we offer the very best shipping rates which are now calculated online and will appear during the checkout process. We currently do not ship internationally.

SOY WAX:

Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. Once soybeans have been harvested they are cleaned, cracked and de-hulled then rolled into flakes. Oil is then extracted from these flakes.

Using the Hydrogenation process (High heat, metal calalyst and hydrogen gas) the oil is then returned back into a solid at room temperature giving you 'soy wax' (the same process in which margarine and vegetable based shortening are converted)

A well-made soy candle will burn cleanly and slowly. Soy wax is an eco-friendly, biodegradable and sustainable product.

Is it possible to have “Organic Soy Candles”? Is there a Soy Wax that can be certified Organic?

At this time the answer is no to both of these questions and those companies and businesses who claim this are MISLEADING their customers. We urge each of you to make enquiries to these websites and businesses and ask for the brand and suppliers name of this so called organic soy wax they are 'using' and do your own research on the matter!!!

There are 2 main brands of soy wax used in candle making in Australia neither of which are certified organic! Soy wax cannot be certified organic.....

Due to the chemical alteration of the liquid soy oil to make it a solid (wax) it is no longer organic and cannot be claimed as being so! Even soy wax made from Organic Soybeans and other organic ingredients cannot be classed as ORGANIC due to the hydrogenation process used to turn it into a solid.

BURN TIMES:

Soy wax burns at a much lower temperature than paraffin wax candles. A soy candle that has been properly cared for can burn up to 50% longer. Actual burning times for each item can vary depending on the oil used whether it be essential or aroma, dyes and also the size of the wick and flame.

CANDLE CARE:

There are a few ways to make sure you get the best out of your soy candle.

The first time you light you candle allow it burn till it has melted evenly to the sides, this will help you achieve an even burn without tunneling right to the bottom of your glass, it will also help in the scent throw of your candle.

Trim your wick to about 6mm before you light your candle each time. An over sized wick will create a larger flame and reduce total burn time. A wick that is cut too short will result in a small flame that will not melt the wax to the edge of the glass and the melted wax may extinguish your flame.

Each different essential and aroma oil will have varying scent throw, as a guide we have rated these from subtle to strong - actual aroma will depend on room size etc, what we find subtle may be mild or even strong to you.

INPERFECTIONS IN YOUR CANDLES:

During changes in temperature specially during shipping, soy candles will sometimes sweat and release excess oil. This is easily wiped with a clean lint free rag or paper towel - it will not effect the burn or scent throw of your candle. You can help this by keeping your soy candles out of direct sunlight.

Frosting on the top of your candle and at the sides of your jar is a natural characteristic of soy wax it does not effect the scent or burning of your candle, it is more visable in candles where dye is used. Soy candle manufacturers often add paraffin wax or other synthetic additives to their candles to eliminate frosting, At Organic Home we only use 100% soy wax. We constantly experiment with dyes, oils, and pour temperatures to keep frosting to a minimum, but some frosting is to be expected with all soy products. Please note that during the colder months soy candles can sometimes come away from the side of the glassware in some cases making the wax appear discoloured, while we do everything we can to avoid this, it will at times still happen.

PALM WAX CANDLES:

At Organic Home we are very much aware and concerned with the welfare of
the environment and deforestation being caused by mass clearing. Most of the palm oil farmed causing this catastrophe is used by the fast food, cosmetics and chocolate industries. 40% Of all products found on our supermarket shelves contain palm oil, with no labelling laws it can be called more than a dozen different things including the very common 'vegetable oil'!

These large companies who are only concerned with one thing.... PROFIT do not care where or how this oil is farmed as long as they can buy it for the cheapest price.

We are dedicated to offering the best products at the best prices, BUT NOT
